Shine like the Stars

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. (Philippians 2:14-16 TNIV)

Have you noticed the night sky lately? Have you seen how the stars really do sparkle like diamonds? Pretty cool that God has created us to sparkle like that inside and out! Find out more at Samie sisters. Sparkly People

Hide and Seek

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast. (Psalm 139:7-10 NIV)

Do you ever have one of those days where you wonder where could God be in all of this? Nothing is going as planned and it feels as though God may be hiding? God promises to ALWAYS be with us even when we don’t feel God’s presence. On days when we leap with joy and on days we’re filled will sorrow.

Season for Change

20121015-223456.jpg  It’s my favorite time of the year…FALL! I’ve dug out my hoodies from the back of the closet, the corn and beans in the fields next our home have been harvested, and the trees are beautiful!

The leaves letting go of the trees reminds me that there are things I need to let go of…grudges, anger, insecurities, sadness, fear. I need to let them go and trust that God has something so much better for me!

What do you need to let go of this season? What could God have waiting if you just let go? Change can be difficult but beautiful! May this be an AWESOME season for you!

Thinking Healthy Thoughts About Our Bodies

Think you’re too fat, too skinny, your hair’s too frizzy or maybe you’re embarrassed by your green skin and pointy ears. (Um, if you have green skin, run…don’t walk to the doctor!)

My point is that we all have something we don’t think is great about our bodies.  Remember God made us exactly the way He wanted us to be and He thinks we are perfect!

This week on the site we’re discussing unhealthy thoughts about being too skinny.  Check it out at

Words that Hurt

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen…Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:29-32 TNIV)

“Hey did you hear what Monica did? I can’t believe she…..”

It’s so tempting to join in the latest gossip and be in the know. When that friend or girl in class makes us mad it can be difficult to be compassionate and build her up rather than tear her down and hold a grudge. Still, that is exactly what God challenges us to do! Just as God forgives us when we are in the wrong, we are to forgive others.
